The situation in India is grim as it tops the list regarding exposure to air pollution or fine particles in the world, which mainly happens due to ICE vehicles, coal-fed power plants, industrial releases, etc. The outcome is that people in India are dying younger due to heart-related diseases, respiratory ailments, etc coupled with mental challenges. So, can it be readdressed?
One of the most successful events to mitigate the issue was declared in the 2015 Paris Agreement, which is a legally enforceable global climate change accord. It was accepted by 196 Parties at COP 21 in Paris on December 12, 2015, and went into effect on November 4, 2016. Its objective is to keep global warming considerably below 2 degrees Celsius. Indian PM, Narendra Modi, due to his visionary concepts to fight climate change, was extensively covered and examined by numerous leaders to be one of the most potent candidates who can deliver the most to achieve the accord’s goals within the timeframe of 2026.
The auto sector, no doubt, can play a pivotal role in eliminating major climate change hurdles by building a sustainable ecosystem to develop and deliver electric mobility in the country.
The current challenges with ICE vehicles, emitting a huge amount of toxic air while raising road surface temperature, can only be dealt with by electric mobility. Here are some figures to show why ICE vehicles are emerging as real problems.
