As Vivid fast approaches, there’s more than plenty of events and celebrations happening across the city to keep you entertained for 23 days. Running through May 27 to June 18, the event is promising to be bigger than ever with numerous light sculptures, music concerts and provocative talks spark the city! With so much to see and experience, here is a brief guide on some of the highlights of Vivid Sydney 2022.

 

Sydney Harbour Cruises

 

The harbour takes the centre stage during Vivid with thousands of people visiting from every part of the country to witness the main draw cards– the Lighting of the Sails of the Opera House and the illumination of the Harbour Bridge! Music at Carriageworks 

 

As part of Vivid Sydney 2022, Carriageworks is set to be on fire across June 2-11 when numerous artists from different parts of the planet join forces to produce a visionary music program. Major globe-traversing artists include Perfume Genius, Chai from Japan, Cate Le Bon, Perth dark-pop powerhouse Alter Boy and other local and international talents. Performance Space, a Carriageworks resident company will be in attendance a s part of the program, presenting Live Dreams–three evenings of performance and experimental art inspired from the Asia-Pacific. The operators are more than determined to make the most of the two year hiatus by welcoming back audiences to share in the spirit of the cultural experiences, putting diverse artists from home and abroad under the spotlight.

 

Vivid LIVE

 

Running through the duration of the event till June 18, Vivid Live transforms the Opera House on the inside and outside with an array of colourful celebrations. This event features more than 70 Australian and international artists, hosted across six Opera House venues including and across its iconic sails. LIVE is an epitome of Sydney’s cultural experiences, reflecting the changes the city has undergone over the last two years and representing the determination of the authority to share the stage of communal art and live concerts together. The venue also plays host to numerous premieres and festival firsts including Nil Frahm’s new performance!
