Delta Flight Change Policy
This policy applies to tickets purchased after August 1st. 9, 2020. For all flights originating from North America, there is no change fee when you purchase a ticket in the main cabin or above. This includes the following seating types:
Main cabin.
Delta Comfort+.
First class.
Delta premium options.
Delta Satu.
If you are traveling from outside of North America, you will not be charged any change fees, except for the basic economy ticket, which cannot be changed (unless subject to a waiver).
You must change or cancel the ticket prior to departure for the ticket to retain its value. Eligible tickets allow travelers to make changes to time, date and location before departure, not after departure.
The same day ticket exchange policy applies to tickets within 24 hours of departure.
Basic economy tickets cannot be exchanged after a risk -free 24 -hour cancellation period (unless eligible under a special waiver).
How to change Delta flights
If your ticket is redeemable, there are several ways to change your flight, including online, through the mobile app and by contacting Delta’s booking department. If you’re an elite member, the “Contact Us” section of the Fly Delta mobile app will display your specific phone line number. If you purchased tickets from a third -party travel agency ,you may need to contact them directly if you are unable to change your flight online. Delta Awards tickets booked with SkyMiles can be redeemed in the same way as those booked with cash or other payment methods.
How to change your Delta flight online (step by step)
- Find the confirmation number in your booking email and enter it on Delta.com to access the booking. Alternatively, you can navigate to the "My Trips" section in your Delta SkyMiles account and click on the trip you want to change.
- Click the red "Modify Flight" button in the upper right corner.
- You will then be given the option to change flights or cancel them. Select the "Start Flight Change" option.
- This screen toggle option shows all flights included in a particular booking; You must select the flight you wish to change by checking the box next to the flight.
- Click "Find new flights" to go to the next page.
In this step, all of your new flight options will appear and you will select the flight you want to change and the amount you paid for the existing ticket will be applied to the cost of the new ticket. You will need to pay the balance as usual or receive a refund or electronic credit for the fare difference based on the type of ticket originally booked.
If you use electronic credit, the credit value will be applied to the new ticket and you must pay the remaining balance. If the new flight is cheaper, the new electronic credit in the amount of the price difference will be applied to your account for future travel in the Delta.
