Following are several techniques of salon standard paraffin wax service.

 

1 a. Dip the customer's hand in the paraffin up to the wrist, making sure the hand is relaxed for a few seconds, then remove. Repeat four or five times until your hands are completely coated.

 

2 a. When the dipping process is complete, place your hands in a plastic lining or wrap them in a hot towel.

 

3 a. Place the gloves on the plastic lining or just put your hands in the towel.

 

4. Allow the wax to harden for 5 to 10 minutes, then remove gloves, liners, or towels.

 

5. Remove paraffin wax and discard used wax.

 

6. Massage hands and forearms, using massage lotion if needed. Remember, if you apply nail polish after paraffin dip, wipe the finger deck with a dehydrator to prepare the nail polish for adhesion.

 

1 b. Some prefer ladle technology, where paraffin wax is scooped into a plastic lining for personal use.

 

2 b. When the customer's hands are in the bag, apply the wax to their hands to ensure complete coverage.

 

3. Repeat Steps 4 to 6.

 

Something to keep in mind

> It is recommended to have two separate baths, one for the feet and one for the hands.

 

Keep the bathtub clean at all times.

 

> Do not serve clients with cuts, sores or burns and make sure they are not wearing any jewellery.

 

> Be sure to thoroughly clean hands and feet with soap and water or disinfectant spray before soaking.

> If using ladle technology, be sure to clean and disinfect the ladle or use disposable cups.

 

> Do not reuse wax already applied to the client - under any circumstances.
