Over the years, smartwatches have gained popularity as a viable alternative to a traditional timepiece, but there is always the potential for development. Will the wearable tech environment alter with the debut of Huawei's Watch GT2 Pro, or is it just another run-of-the-mill device? Let's take a closer look at the review to find out.

The design and build quality of the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro are excellent

The huawei gt2 pro has excellent build quality. It not only looks excellent, but it also has a high-end feel to it when worn. Even though my wrist is smaller than typical, it fits nicely with several notches to spare. A 1.39-inch AMOLED touch display with 454 x 454 resolution sits in front, however, it lacks always-on functionality. You can choose from a variety of watch faces, albeit I believe at least half of them are garish in appearance.

Come on, Huawei, you're capable of more! When I wore this on my wrist, many people were impressed by its appearance, which had a titanium case with sapphire glass or a ceramic back. On the right side of the clock, there are two buttons: the upper one allows access to the menu, while the lower one is a shortcut key to athletic activities.

Smartwatch features

As a smartwatch, it should allow me to access most of my smartphone's functionalities without having to pull it out of my pocket. To begin, it will show notifications from my phone, such as incoming text messages, WhatsApp messages, emails, and so on. However, I thought the messaging feature was incomplete because I couldn't even send a brief reply over WhatsApp in the form of a template. After all, there was no option to do so. Even my Casio WSD-F20 Pro-Trek, which was released over four years ago, allowed me to respond to messages and view photographs, which the GT2 Pro lacks.

Fitness Tracking

How does it compare to other dedicated activity trackers or smartwatches as a fitness tracker? The Huawei Watch GT2 Pro uses rings to indicate the number of steps done, active minutes, and sometimes even standing time, taking a page from Cupertino's playbook. Swiping left on the main screen will show you your progress toward your objective, while an app will keep track of everything else. After enough time with the GT2 Pro, you'll notice patterns emerge in activities like the number of steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, and even the number of flights of stairs climbed. You'd have to crunch the numbers yourself and reach your conclusions.

Heart rate & SpO2 tracking

The Huawei Watch GT2 Pro comes with the TruSeen 4.0+ heart rate sensor, which uses machine learning algorithms to provide a more accurate heart rate reading over time. There are low and high peaks in heart rate data, and it should work OK in most situations, though there's a chance the sensor will fail to deliver an accurate reading if you're doing something that causes your heart rate to rapidly increase and decrease.
