The Huawei MatePad Pro is indeed an Android-based tablet created by Huawei and sold as part of their Mate series. On November 25, 2019, it was announced, and on December 12, 2019, it was released.

Chipsets

The Huawei MatePad Pro's main computational component is the Kirin 9000E octa-core CPU, which is built on a 5G modem. Huawei has also claimed that the MatePad Pro is the world's first 5G tablet. The Kirin 990 CPU is a high-performance processor that also saves battery life. In addition, the aforementioned CPU includes a 7nm+ processing node based on EUV and FinFET technology. The Mali G76-MP16 GPU is used by the MatePad Pro for graphic rendering. Furthermore, the MatePad Pro's NPU (Neural Processing Unit) functions as an artificially intelligent powered processor, enhancing the tablet's performance, efficiency, and battery life.

Display

The huawei matepad pro sports a 10.8-inch (270-mm) quad high-definition liquid crystal display, according to Huawei. The brightness of the display can be increased up to 540 nits. Furthermore, the display has a resolution of 2560 1600 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio with 16 million colors. According to Huawei's lab tests, the screen-to-body ratio should be around 90% if measured correctly. The tablet does not offer a 120 Hz refresh rate, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S21 series, and instead uses a conventional 60 Hz refresh rate.

Storage

The MatePad Pro comes in three different ROM storage sizes: 128, 256, and 512 GB, with Huawei's proprietary Nano Memory card as the second storage option, which can be increased up to 256 GB. The MatePad Pro comes with either 6 or 8 GB of RAM (type LPDDRX4).

Batteries

A non-removable 7,250mAh Li-Polymer battery powers all of the device's hardware components and supports wireless charging. In addition, the tablet may last up to 10.8 hours on battery life.

Connectivity

The gadget supports dual-band Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi direct, as well as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac network protocols. The MatePad Pro supports rapid wired charging up to 40W, wireless charging up to 27W, and reverse wireless charging up to 7.5W when it comes to charging. A USB-C 3.1 cable that can be reversed can be used to transfer data from the tablet. The MatePad Pro can handle sub-6 GHz 5G networks in addition to the regular 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks. The theoretical peak download speed in such networks is 2.3 Gbit/s, or the theoretical upload speed is 1.25 Gbit/s. GPS, GLONASS, and Bluetooth 5.1 are among the other options.

Software

Huawei suspended operations for pre-installing Google Services on their latest handsets as a result of the trade war between China and the United States and instead began encouraging the usage of their software, specifically EMUI & Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). The MatePad Pro runs EMUI 10.1, which is based on the Android 10 source code and has a new Always On Display, Celia, a replacement assistant for Google Assistant, and Huawei Meantime, a new video chat application.

The software also identifies and supports air gestures made with the redesigned M-Pencil (which looks similar to Samsung's S-Pen). The tablet enables multitasking with up to two programs and can download desktop applications such as Firefox, which would otherwise be unavailable on a tablet or smartphone. Huawei has also been pre-installing, advertising, and pushing the use of their new app distribution platform, the 'Huawei AppGallery,' on devices that do not have Google Play.
