The principle of LED lighting

The chip is the core part of the LED. It consists of a P-type semiconductor and an N-type semiconductor. There is also a transition layer between the P-type semiconductor and the N-type semiconductor, which is called a PN junction like a diode. In a PN junction composed of special semiconductor materials, if the injected minority carriers and majority carriers recombine, the excess energy will be released in the form of light, which is what we see as visible light.

The principle of LED heating

Energy is conserved, it does not arise for no reason nor disappear for no reason. The LED light starts to work after it is connected to the power supply, because only about 20% of the electrical energy is converted into light energy, and the other energy can only be converted into heat energy. Because the chip size of the LED lamp bead is very small, the heat is concentrated in a relatively small place. If the heat is not dissipated in time, the temperature will be particularly high, which will also affect the life of the lamp bead. High-quality LED lights will install the lamp beads on the aluminum substrate, and a larger radiator will be installed behind the aluminum substrate so that the heat emitted by the lamp beads can be quickly and evenly dissipated. Even if we touch it, there is only warmth. The feeling, and will not feel the too high temperature.

Compared with incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, and energy-saving lamps, LEDs are more energy-efficient and are more and more widely used.
