Sydney’s calendar is shaping up really nicely with numerous events and fun-filled activities! With the skies over the city in the upcoming weeks set to remain mostly pleasant, it’s imperative that you know when and where to venture around the city for some fun. Here’s a rundown of a few top things to do and see in and around  Sydney.

Dinner Cruise in Sydney Harbour

A city like Sydney where tourism is always booming, you can come across various attractions that can be experienced year-round, regardless of the time you visit. One such attraction is a dinner cruise. The gorgeous harbour city of Australia is one of the best looking cities in the world and it really starts to show once the night lights start to come up one by one. To best experience it, you can hop on a popular Sydney Harbour Dinner Cruise and access front-row seats to witness some of the biggest landmarks of the city, including the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. You get to pick from top vessels such as the premium glass boat, a custom-built catamaran and a classic paddlewheeler, which are also ideal if you're looking for an alternative to regular dining. With a freshly prepared dinner menu and a fully licensed bar to complement the night views of the city, you got yourself the ultimate ticket to a breathtaking experience.

A Virtual-Tropical Escape

How about an audio-visual experience that will take you into the tropical grasslands and savannas for a one-of-a-kind encounter with a soundscape of over 15,000 animal species!? As part of the 23rd Biennale of Sydney, United Visual Artists have designed an impressive soundscape, which comes to life with colour-coded visualisations from animals from the habitats of Africa, North America and many other continents.. This immersive installation known as The Great Animal Orchestra, is showcased to the public at Stargazer Lawn, Barangaroo for the duration of the Biennale. Sound is usually the last element  to be put in place in movies, but it is the essential element in this unique environmentally charged work. Bernie Krause, the brain behind this unique experience, has worked with artists such as The Doors and George Harrison, and has made film scores for Apocalypse Now. He took matters into his own arms and headed outdoors to record the sounds of animals. It is a rare insight into the unseen world of animals, and Krause believed that it reveals the beauty and intricacy of animal vocalisations, which are now overshadowed by human activity.

Play Manly

If you’re one of those people who have been in the loop of all work and no play, this is the perfect solution in Play Manly.
