Mohare Danda Trek is a newly open trekking trail that traverses around the foothills of the Annapurna. The trek offers stunning views of the Annapurna Range (8,091 m) and Dhaulagiri Range (8,167 m). The Mohare Danda Khopra Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara that further continues to Galeshwar, the starting point of the trek. The trail then gradually ascends through a forested path and a few steep sections. You pass by villages like Banskharka and Nadi Village before reaching Mohare Danda. The trail then descends to Nayapul, where the trek ends, and you will drive back to Pokhara.

The best time to do Mohare Danda Trek is from March to April- spring, and October to November- autumn. These two seasons are considered perfect for trekking to Mohare Danda because of stable weather and a pleasant climate. The temperature remains moderate with clear views and bright sunny days. You will feel a little cold in the mornings and nights. Likewise, in spring, the trail blooms up with numerous floras, and autumn has its festive scent to it.

Monsoon and winter are the off-seasons. The trail gets muddy and slippery, along with high chances of landslides in the monsoon. Likewise in winter, thick layers of fog block the views, and heavy snowfall increases the chances of blockage of the trail.

The post-monsoon period (autumn): The region sees a decrease in rainfall from early September. The climate begins to get colder as the subsequent months arrive with warm days and cold nights/mornings. The daily temperature ranges from 0 °C to 30 °C. Usually, in late November, the temperature begins to fall below -0 °C. Likewise, the days start to get shorter.

The pre-monsoon period (spring): From March onwards, the region begins to warm along with carrying a hint of coldness in the air at nights/mornings. There can be occasional rainstorms in the afternoon. The temperature during the daytime can touch up to 30 °C, or more in the lower in lower elevation. The higher parts of the trail are mostly covered with snow. The surrounding welcomes diverse vegetation, and greenery begins to evolve.

Mohare Danda Community Trek offers homestay and lodges along the way. You will get the best available accommodation while trekking with us. The accommodation offers basic services like room (mostly shared room), private/shared washrooms, and dining. In some places, you may get charging and hot shower facilities for free, while there are chances you might have to pay a few extra bucks to utilize these services in places. The accommodation on this trek is built by the community and goes the entire outcome to the local people for their welfare and holistic community development.

Likewise, the meals are served, as per the menu of the lodge/homestay. You can expect to see Nepali, Indo-Chinese, and Continental dishes on the menu. Likewise, drinking water is also available throughout the trail. You can refill the bottle as it gets empty. We also recommend you carry water purification tablets to double purify the water.

Due to the development process of road, the trekking trail transformation to the higher Himalaya in the Annapurna Region, so the Mohare Danda developed as a recently open trekking route for the nature lover as a new model of trekking that benefits go directly to the local communities. This is an alternative trail in the Annapurna, to escape the crowd of trekkers such as Poon Hill. 

Mohare Danda is located southwest of the Annapurna Conservation Area and starts from the town called Galeshwor, Myagdi district, Dhaulagiri zone 3 Kilometers from Beni. After 4 to 5 hours of drive from Pokhara (86km), you can join the trail that leads to the top of the Mohare Danda after crossing the Kaligandaki River, through the typical village; Banskharka, Dora Danda, Danda Ketari, Banwade, Nagi then downhill to the wilderness trail to the Danda Kharka, Pyari Barahi Tal, Thula Kharka, Tikot, Histan get drive from Tiplyang. Normally, this trek can complete in 5 Days from Pokhara as the shortest, however, the trip can extend to the Khopra Ridge Trek via the most popular Poon Hill Trek or make it longer up to the Annapurna Base Camp
