To apply for the BC PNP's International Post-Graduate category, no employment offer is required.

You can gain Canadian permanent residence without a job offer if you have a graduate degree in science from an authorised British Columbia university.

Science graduates may be eligible for the Skills Immigration – International Post-Graduate category of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

A Canadian immigrant who has earned a master's or doctorate degree in one of the natural, applied, or health sciences disciplines listed below has priority under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP):

• Agriculture;

• Sciences of biology and biomedicine;

• Computer science and information technology, as well as related services;

• Engineering;

• Engineering technology;

• Health-related professions and clinical sciences;

• Statistics and mathematics;

• Study and conservation of natural resources;

•Physics;

You must apply to BC PNP within three years following the date on your official transcript if you wish to be considered for this category.

To be eligible for this stream, you must also be able to show that you intend to live and work in British Columbia. This can be done by giving proof of your prior or current residence in the province, for example. You can also give B.C. documentation of your employment, studies, or family ties. Another option is to include a description of any actions you've done to permanently settle, such as finding a job or a place to reside, or getting involved in the community.

To be eligible for this stream, candidates must not have a profile in the federal Express Entry system.

For priority processing, apply for Express Entry BC – International Post-Graduate Stream.

Candidates who match the Skill’s Immigration – International Post-Graduate category's eligibility standards and have an active Express Entry profile, on the other hand, Applicants for the BC PNP and, if nominated, permanent residence will be given priority processing.

B.C. Express Entry BC – International Post-Graduate is a category that coincides with the federal government's Express Entry immigration selection system. In addition to the standard eligibility requirements, candidates in this category must have a valid Express Entry profile number and an IRCC Express Entry job seeker validation code.

In general, there are various advantages to building an Express Entry Profile. Candidates who earn a nomination under the provincial streams gain an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry ranking score, thus ensuring an ITA in a subsequent Express Entry a round of invitations was held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Almost all Canadian provinces and territories, with the exception of British Columbia, have at least one Provincial Nominee Program stream linked to the federal Express Entry system. There are many PNPs around the country that do not require a job offer, such as those in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Nova Scotia.

Having an Express Entry profile not only allows provinces to select you from a pool of candidates under their provincial streams, but it also allows you to get an Invitation to Apply directly from IRCC under federal programmes if you meet the Comprehensive Ranking System requirements.
