General Description

For Bluetooth® low energy, the DA14580 integrated circuit contains a fully integrated radio transceiver and a baseband processor. It can function as a stand-alone application processor or as a data pump in cloud-based systems.

The DA14580 has a memory architecture that allows it to store Bluetooth profiles and bespoke application code that can be updated over the air (OTA). A dedicated ROM stores the qualified Bluetooth low-energy protocol stack. A simple scheduler runs all software on the ARM®Cortex®-M0 CPU.

The L2CAP service layer protocols, Security Manager (SM), Attribute Protocol (ATT), Generic Attribute Profile (GATT), and Generic Access Profile (GAP) are all included in the Bluetooth low energy firmware (GAP).

Features

  • Compliant with Bluetooth V4.2, ETSI EN 300 328 and EN 300 440 Class 2 in Europe, FCC CFR47 Part 15 in the United States, and ARIB STD-T66 in Australia (Japan)

  • ARM Cortex-M0, 16 MHz, 32 bits, with SWD interface

  • DLL Processor (Dedicated Link Layer Processor)

  • One-Time-Programmable (OTP) memory of 32 kB
