The Importance of Salaah
The Importance of Salaah
Salaah (Prayers) is one of the obligatory Five Pillars of Islam and is a privilege blessed upon us by Allah SWT.

One of Islam's Five Pillars is Salaah (prayer), which is a privilege bestowed upon us by Allah SWT. We pray for no one but ourselves since the reward is essentially for us, and it has many wonderful qualities.

Amongst many of these countless benefits, Muslim Aid has listed a few:

Brings You Closer to Allah SWT

We should now have a conversation with our Creator. Similar to how most of us could speak for England to our friends and family, this priceless time is set aside to have a conversation with God. Additionally, at the conclusion of our prayers, we make haajat (wishes) to Allah SWT. Allah SWT states:

“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely, I am near, I respond to the call of the one who prays to Me, so he should respond to Me and believe in Me, so that he may be led on the right path”
-          The Holy Qur’an (2:186)

No one loves us more than our Lord, who made us; not even our own parents. He just requests a little over 30 minutes of our entire day, though. Our character and spirit can only be strengthened and purified by having this relationship with our Lord.

Fajr and Ishaa (Morning and Evening Prayer)

It is stated that Fajr is the day's most important prayer without a doubt. It takes place while everyone else is asleep and you have gotten out of bed to talk to your Lord.

Similar to this, by doing the Isha prayer before going to bed, you have recalled your Lord while most people are drowsy and exhausted.

“And he, who performs Salaah before sunrise and Salaah before sunset will not enter the gates of Hell.”  Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

During the Holy Month of Ramadan, most of us develop the habit of rising up for Fajr, but we should strive to sustain this practise in order to continue receiving our reward. After the Fajr Salaah, Allah SWT sends His Angels to watch over us and lead us throughout the day.

Also, as an added bonus, it infuriates shaitaan (devil) when a believer wakes up for Fajr!

Jummah (Friday Prayers)

Islam places a lot of importance on the Jummah prayers. It is a communal prayer that is offered at mosques and encourages Muslim harmony. It is reported that Allah SWT accepts the duas of any believer for a full hour on the day of Jummah. On Jummah Day, rewards are also raised. Prophet Adam was created by Allah SWT on a Friday, and the end of the world will also occur on a Friday. Any charitable donation made on a Friday is also rewarded more.

Of course, there are a plethora of additional advantages to doing salah, including the recompense in the hereafter, the Barkah (blessed) in our homes, and the accomplishments made while still on earth. However, prayer serves as a crucial reminder that our time on earth is fleeting and that Allah SWT is our true owner. It is our responsibility to assist others, and the more we do so, the more Allah SWT will give us in return.

So let’s ensure we remember those who are less fortunate than us in our Prayers tonight and donate towards a good cause today with https://goldmuslim.com/
.  Our overall reward will far outweigh our gift.
