A Psychosocial Recovery Coach (or NDIS Recovery Coach) is a new mentalhealth focussed NDIS support item for participants living with a psychosocialdisability who require support managing complex challenges of daily living.

What does a Psychosocial Recovery Coach do?
A Psychosocial Recovery Coach will work collaboratively with NDISparticipants, acknowledging that each person is an expert in their own life.This is an important new role that supports people with mental health supports.
Coaches work with the person to develop goals, hopes and aspirations. Itis a strength-based approach that is underpinned by strong and respectfulrelationships. A recovery coach will spend time with you, and the peopleimportant to you, to get to know you and understand your needs.
They will help you to find out about difference services and supports,and how these can help you and help you get support from mental healthservices. Recovery means recreating a new path forward and being able to live apurpose and meaningful life.
Who will get a Recovery Coach?
Generally, recovery coaching will be funded in NDIS plans for peoplewith psychosocial support needs. You do not have to choose a recovery coach ifyou do not want one.

· Dothey have a lived experience of mental health and recovery?
