Insurance Policies Against Omicron Variant
Ever since the coronavirus spread in the country, medical facilities have grown repeatedly. Therefore, buying health insurance by paying a premium becomes a crucial step to take.
There are two health insurance policies specially formulated by the IRDAI to shield you from the havoc of Covid-19.
Corona Kavach Policy
Corona Kavach Policy is a short term corona health insurance policy. Generally, the health insurance policies pay for your hospitalisation charges if it has been more than 24 hours; however, this policy covers your expenses of hospitalisation due to coronavirus for any period up to 14 days. If a situation of lack of bed arises, then under the policy, the expenses for home treatment will also be paid by the insurer. Individuals aged 18-65 years are eligible for an insured sum of R. 50,000 to 50 lakhs. The policy covers expenses of consumable medicines, oxygen cylinders, instruments bought, hospitalisation bills or medical staff charges if treated at home.
Corona Rakshak Policy
Corona Rakshak Policy is a coronavirus health insurance policy that can be 3.5, 6.5, or 9.5 months long. The policy provides coverage once the insured is diagnosed positive and has been hospitalised for at least 3 days. The sum insured can be anywhere between 50,000 to 2.5 lakhs; the age limit is 18-65 years. The policy will cover all the charges involved in hospitalising the insured, and the claim will be settled through cashless mode.
