The kidney disease Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), which affects the glomeruli that filter the blood out of the kidney, causes severe scarring and end-stage renal disease.
In the condition known as Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, scar tissue forms on the glomeruli, the tiny kidney structures responsible for removing waste from the blood. FSGS may result from a number of different conditions.
