Industrialdryers, also known as dryers for industrial use, are used to efficiently drylarge amounts of materials that require lower moisture levels in the dryingprocess. Depending upon the type and amount of material being processed, thedryers usually come in a variety of models built especially for this purpose. Some of the common types of dryers available today are dryers designed fordrywall, ceiling insulation, leather, fabrics, and paper. In the past, thesetypes of dryers were large industrial drum dryers that were powered by steam, but modern dryers are made using electricity and gas or oil-powered engines.
Thereare several factors that determine the size of an industrialdryer including the capacity to handle the material to be dry cleaned, the space available in the dryer, and the weight of the material being drycleaned. Common types of industrial dryers include counter-current dryers, hotwater dryers, electric tumble dryers, and gas tumble dryers. Most dryers haveeither a vertical or a horizontal feeder pipe that directs the spray of hot airthrough a discharge tube. The amount of air pressure in the air stream iscontrolled by a knob that can be set at a high setting for extra-strong airflowor at a low setting for normal room temperature air. Electric motors controlthe speed of the spray of air through the feeders.
