Rods & Reels Growing Knowledge and Skills
Shredder has partnered with National Fishing in Schools Program (NFSP). Combining Shredder's curriculum with NFSP's, middle school and high school aged students will be educated about fish, insects, aquatic environment, resource stewardship and conservation using fishing, and learning the skill of casting (as the instructional tool)!
In addition to providing an indoor environment to enable kids to practice and strengthen skills on a weekly basis, one ingredient that makes the program successful is the unique CasTarget teaching aids. These photorealistic targets provide teachers with educational tools that make the curriculum effective, fun, and engaging! We provide all the necessary ingredients to empower our instructors to implement "Fishing in Schools": curriculum, equipment, training, and support.
We make gaining the skills of fishing easy-to-learn, easy-to-administer, easy-to-teach. The curriculum creates positive results for both student and teacher and it also leads to:
moderate to vigorous physical activity
better understanding & respect for the outdoors
increased awareness of our environment & natural resources
