What exactly is the Comprehensive Ranking System? – Aptech Visa

The Comprehensive Ranking System is used to evaluate the profiles of foreign people who wish to come to the nation utilising the Express Entry system (CRS).

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) evaluate and scores each foreign national's profile submitted to the Express Entry pool using the CRS, a points-based system.

The CRS allows for a maximum score of 1,200.

An application for immigration may receive up to 600 points, known as core points, depending on:

  • Expertise and knowledge;
  • Variables related to the spouse or common-law partners, such as education and language proficiency;
  • The transferability of abilities, including training and professional experience.

An additional 600 points are available for immigration applicants who have Canadian degrees, diplomas, or certifications as well as

  • A legitimate work offer.
  • A province or territory nominating someone;
  • A citizen or permanent resident brother or sister who resides in Canada;
  • Mastery of the French language.

The applicant's CRS score is the sum of their core and bonus points.

If an applicant for immigration has received a nomination from one of Canada's provinces, the nomination is worth an additional 600 points in the Express Entry pool.

If a foreign national is qualified for at least one Express Entry program and meets the following criteria, they can use the free online tool offered here to verify their CRS score:

   Were asked to apply for permanent residence and want to see if a modification to their Express Entry profile may alter their CRS score; or

   Have not yet completed an Express Entry profile but would want to see what their CRS score might be if they did.

The Express Entry system is used by the Canadian federal government to expedite applications for three immigration programs that aim to bring in skilled professionals.

Candidates are drawn from the Express Entry pool for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canada Experience Class Program. Each program, however, has specific conditions that the foreign national must adhere to.

By responding to a few questions on this federal government website, a foreign citizen seeking to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker may find out which program is ideal for them and establish their eligibility.

The government's website will provide instructions on the further stages, including the submission of an online profile to the Express Entry system after eligible candidates have applied for one of the three federal programs that use Express Entry.

Although there was a break in the federal Express Entry system drawings for the first half of this year, they are anticipated to start again in July.
