Favorite destinations in the new normal

After conducting a study based on the behavior of its users on the website, they have  published a report that confirms the favorite destinations of Spanish travelers in the summer of the "new normal". In the middle of a summer full of sprouts, we Spaniards still dare to travel (always with the greatest of precautions) and these are the most frequent destinations:

1. The Balearic Islands

In the first place, the Balearic Islands take the first prize to the favorite destination in this supposed "new normal". Specifically, according to the reservations made, the crown jewels are: first, Menorca ; then Mallorca , and finally  Ibiza .

It is also very important to take into account that, according to the platform, accommodation prices in Ibiza have  fallen by 25%,  while in Menorca the decrease has been 23% .

We are not surprised that the Spanish want to know the Balearic Islands as there are many reasons to come on their visit. First of all, for its beautiful coves of fine sand and crystal clear waters. Secondly, for its spectacular towns , such as those that we can find in the north of Ibiza.

Third, its historical heritage . We cannot forget places such as the fortifications of the old city of Ibiza, the Phoenician ruins of Sa Caleta and the acropolis of the upper city of Ibiza. Also in Mallorca, the Serra de Tramuntana is configured as a witness to the exchange between Christian and Muslim cultures.

Of course , you also have to take into account that the Balearic Islands are the best places to party . Although it is true that this summer precautions must be maximum, we save this activity so that when the covid-19 has left our lives.

2. Andalusia

Second, according to the reservations made,  Andalusia is another of the favorite destinations in the new normal. Specifically, Rumbo establishes that the  Costa de la Luz , the  Costa del Sol  and the  Costa de Almería  are crowned as the most popular places to spend a few days off. In this case we find promotions that exceed 20% discount. Real bargains if we compare with the prices of previous summers.

Regarding the reasons for traveling to Andalusia, we also find wonderful beaches , and also, with many more options than in the case of the Balearic Islands, which are much more limited in space. Nor can we forget the Andalusian gastronomy and its appeal in which you cannot miss a good Cordovan salmorejo or a delicious gazpacho in any other province. Andalusia has a historical heritage of great value, among the most relevant: the Alhambra in Granada, the Mosque of Córdoba or the Cathedral of Seville.

3. The Canary Islands

Third, we find the Canary Islands , another of those favorite destinations that are never lacking on Spanish holidays. In this case, Rumbo tells us that  Tenerife , Gran Canaria and  Lanzarote  are the three main tourist spots on these islands. Again, we are faced with an increase in reserves while prices have fallen. Of all the places, Tenerife is the one in which there is the greatest reduction with 36% less in the price per night.

There are many reasons why Spaniards choose the Canary Islands. In the first place, because of its enviable climate as the islands are located near the Tropic of Cancer and that is why its climate is subtropical. In the same way as in the case of the Balearic Islands and Andalusia, the Canary Islands have wonderful beaches where you can enjoy nature.

It also has many natural parks , such as: La Caldera de Taburiente National Park in La Palma, Garajonay National Park in La Gomera, Teide National Park in Tenerife and Timanfaya National Park in Lanzarote.
