It's safe to say that Fortnite: Battle Royale is one of the most polarizing video games ever created. You can either call it a fun and accessible free-to-play shooter or a pop culture machine that does whatever it can to flip a Fortnite V Bucks depending on who you ask. Because the general consensus is so divided, and any attempt to find a middle ground is quickly suffocated by social media chatter, it can be difficult to recommend Fortnite to anyone who isn't already a fan of the game. Nonetheless, it is precisely what I want to accomplish.
My awareness of the widespread perception that Fortnite is a game for youngsters and charismatic streamers is not lost on me at all. Its comical aesthetics, innovative (and at times irritating) building structure, and basic game modes/gameplay mechanics all contribute to this overall impression of familiarity with the game. ...and that's before you get to see Naruto blast Batman with a shotgun in order to win the Battle Royale. For the same reasons, I didn't always enjoy Fortnite; the main issue being that I was terrible at erecting improvised structures; it's embarrassing to be outclassed by a twelve-year-old prodigy who can erect an entire steel tower in a matter of seconds, to put it mildly. Having saying that, my opinion on Fortnite began to flip once Chapter 2 was out.
Fortnite, like most other games of its kind, is always evolving. While certain features will always be present - unfortunately, the building aspect will always be present – the ongoing tweaking of the game's fundamental principles has resulted in a more enjoyable gameplay experience. We were given better weaponry, which helped to close the gap in skill between players who excelled in construction and others who were solely concerned with shooting targets. It was conceivable, for example, to use the Primal Stink Bow's deadly chemical cloud to smoke out a rival before killing them off with a few rifle rounds. Also included was an improved crafting system that eliminated some of the randomness associated with finding things, purchaseable weapons (which were purchased with in-game cash that was not related to real money), hirable NPCs, and other items.
Many of these types of adjustments were implemented in Fortnite Chapter 2, with the majority of them being positively welcomed. However, it is the current season of the game that best demonstrates the benefits of this code change. Speaking of movement, the new slide feature in Fortnite is one of the most enjoyable improvements to the game. To simulate the sliding found in Apex Legends, it is now able to slide down hills and under objects in the environment, as well as to slide under other players. It's true that sliding isn't exactly a game-changing innovation in and of itself. Having said that, being able to move rapidly in Fortnite without the usage of items is a significant advantage. Not only does it provide some unique moments – imagine rolling down a mountain with a storm at your back while shooting at a rival who is only a few feet below you – but it also alters the scale of some shootouts. Now, rather than every encounter being played out vertically through the use of built structures, there is a horizontal element at play as well. Being able to hit an opponent who constantly slipping under and around your defenses might be difficult.
Additionally, tornadoes and lightning storms can occur in the form of dynamic weather. This recently added phenomenon does not behave in the manner that we would expect. It is possible to employ poor weather to your benefit in Battlefield 2042, rather than creating immeasurable devastation as it does in other games. Getting struck by lightning will only cause little injury or property damage. It will also deliver a surge of speed to your character as it supercharges him or her. When a tornado strikes, on the other hand, you'll be thrown into the air before gliding back to the earth.
The point that I'm attempting to convey is that Fortnite has experienced some adjustments in recent years. In an effort to not only keep things fresh for fans, but also to entice those of us who would otherwise pass on the game, it has been rebuilt and changed multiple times over the years. And a good deal of it is effective. Fortnite's enhanced gunplay alone is reason enough to give it another go. Because of the excitement surrounding Fortnite's Chapter 2 end event and the potential of playing on a new island, now is the best time to join because a large number of new players have joined in. This means that you will almost certainly not be matched up with some of Fortnite's top architects. In any event, the expanded gunplay makes it conceivable to win a Victory Royale by shooting your way to the top; I've won multiple championships this season, and none of them had anything to do with how quickly I could construct my fortifications.
Fortnite: Battle Royale has become a favorite game of mine. For better or worse, it entertains in a way that is overwhelmingly distinct from anything else out there.
