General Description
The KA78XXAE series of three-terminal positive regulators come in a TO-220/D-PAK package with a choice of fixed-output voltages, making them appropriate for a wide range of applications. Each kind employs internal current limiting, thermal shut-down, and a safe operating area. If adequate heat sinking is provided, they can deliver over 1 A output current. While designed primarily as fixed-voltage regulators, these devices can be utilized with external components to change voltages and currents.
