Introduction
The 74HC165D,653 is serial or parallel-in to a serial-out shift register with an 8-bit resolution. The serial data input, eight parallel data inputs, and two extra serial outputs are all included. If you have a low parallel load input, the data from D0 through D7 is loaded asynchronously into the shift register. When PL is HIGH, data is serially entered into the register at DS. Data is relocated to the HIGH-LOW transitions that occur on the CP input when the clock input is low. Any CP input will be disabled if CE is set to HIGH. Up to 15 V of over-voltage can be tolerated by the inputs. This enables devices to be used in applications that fluctuate between high and low levels.
