Radiopharmaceuticals in Nuclear Medicine Radioactive medications that, when employed for treatment or diagnosis, often evoke no physiological response from the patient are referred to as radiopharmaceuticals. The majority of practitioners have not, over the course of their whole careers, noticed a physiological response or an unfavourable reaction following administration of a radiopharmaceutical, which provides significant support for this classification.
These chemicals were created exclusively with the physiological function of the target organ in mind. External imaging of radiopharmaceuticals is essentially independent of the density of the target organ, in contrast to radiography methods, which rely almost exclusively on changes in tissue density.
