Radiodermatitis, often known as radiation dermatitis, is a skin illness caused by radiation therapy used to treat cancer.

Radiodermatitis, commonly known as radiation dermatitis, is a skin disorder caused by cancer treatment with radiation therapy. Patients with breast cancer, head and neck cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, or sarcoma are more likely to develop radiodermatitis after having radiation therapy. The treatment field or target site on the body receives cumulative daily doses of radiation, which prevents normal skin repopulation and fades skin integrity at and around the radiation field.
