Specialty Valves

Membrane valves or Specialty Valves are made up of a valve body with two or more ports, a diaphragm, and a "saddle" or seat on which the diaphragm denotes the valve. The valve can be made of plastic or steel. The diaphragm valve was initially developed for use in non-hygienic applications. Later, the design was modified for use in the bio-pharmaceutical sector by incorporating compliant substances that can withstand sanitising and sterilising processes. Diaphragm valves are classified into two types: those that seal over a weir/saddle and those that seal over a seat (also known as straight-way valves).
