Metaverse

Metaverses are concepts that allows you to create virtual real-worlds. Virtual worlds are open to all, yet they're protected by large corporations. Because of this, certain companies behind them are hoping to be the first to enter the field and see their own ecosystems win. Facebook is one such company who wants to make the virtual reality a possibility. Facebook won't require users have a Facebook profile to use its services. In fact, it has sold millions Oculus VR Headgear units.

In the late 1990s the phrase "metaverse" was first coined. At first, it was used to refer to a network of virtual spaces connected. This networked virtual environment was meant to be similar to the internet. Players could play Fortnite game Epic and Netflix movies. The idea of a metaverse was so Metaverse futuristic, it became an extremely popular topic in the technology industry. But, even though it is an innovative idea, it's not fully implemented yet.

As far as technology goes, the metaverse is still some time away from becoming widely utilized, but it is a possibility to change our communication and collaborate. We're so used to communicating through emails and text messages that we cannot see eachother anymore. The metaverse however, allows us to communicate with each other as we would expect in real world.
