Industry News
With the latest purchase of two companies specialised in 3D computer vision technologies, Cognex has increased its 3D vision capability. It has acquired EnShape, a Jena, Germany-based manufacturer of specialised 3D vision sensors and applications. EnShape's 3D sensors use proprietary area-scan technology to collect high-resolution images quickly and without the need to mechanically pass objects in front of the device, as laser line scanners do. A new Cognex innovation centre in Jena will house the company's team of highly trained 3D vision engineers.
