Introducing Val Mooty - Dallas Singer/Songwriter
JERRY JONES’ GRANDNEPHEW AND TROY AIKMAN’S STEPSON RELEASES SINGLE “TRYING”

Val Mooty is a singer/songwriter from Dallas, TX. Val has always had two passions: sports and music. Val began playing guitar at 10 years old, and was in a KISS cover band called “Dressed To Kill” from 11-15 years old. For 14 years Val also played football and lacrosse, and received multiple offers to play lacrosse in college.

He began songwriting at 16, when he began recording in studios and performing live. Now 20, Val has built an impressive résumé, having released many original songs independently, opened for Randy Rogers, and played a set before Taylor Swift at AT&T Stadium.

Val also comes from a line of football greatness and is the grandnephew of Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys. In addition, he is also the stepson of Hall of Fame Quarterback Troy Aikman.

Despite having connections to Dallas royalty, Val is determined to create a legacy of his own by stepping out of the family business and pursuing a career in music. Val’s new single "Trying” marks the singer’s first release in almost two years and will be available on all music platforms on May 27th.

Val Mooty’s musical style blends many influences of Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Country, and he believes that the time he has taken to explore many sounds/genres has given him a new confidence to find his own unique sound.

Val Mooty was recently invited to perform at Troy Akiman’s new music festival called “Highway to Henryetta”. The concert will take place in Troy’s hometown of Henryetta, Oklahoma on June 11th at Nichols Park, with sets by Pat Green, Josh Abbott Band, and headliner Blake Shelton. This appearance also marks Val’s first live performance since the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down in early 2020.

“Obviously, my last name isn’t Jones, so it gives me the freedom to make a name for myself, but at the same time, I get advice from two very successful people,” Mooty says.

“However, when it comes to the music industry, there’s no way to hurdle over the grind of slowly building your discography, brand, and following from the ground-up, and I’m putting in the work,” concludes Val.
