AFLAS O-RINGS

AFLAS O-RINGS DESCRIPTION

Aflas®material is an elastomeric based fluororubber, a copolymer oftetrafluoroethylene and propylene. This elastomer offers excellent chemicalresistance qualities, with serviceability in the temperatures up to 550 degreesF depending on environment. Services where Aflas might be applicable includeinorganic acids, alkalis, high temperature steam, polar solvents, organicbases, hydrocarbon oils, amines and amine corrosion inhibitor systems, andhydrogen sulfide bearing fluids.

O-Rings Properties:

Excellentheat resistance with continuous service temperature capability of 450°F,chemical resistance including resistance to strong acids and bases, highelectrical resistivity, excellent oil resistance. Aflas® is a copolymer of TFEand Propolene, an elastomeric based fluororubber.

O-Rings Temperature Range:

-25 F to+450 F+

AFLASO-Rings are highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals but are notrecommended to be used with Ketones (MEK), Auto/Aircraft Brake Fluids, Acetone,Skydrol, Ethyl Acetate, Low Molecular Esters and Ethers.

BunaO-Rings Description

BunaO-Rings also referred to as NBR O-Rings and NitrileO-Rings are the most widely used O-Ring materials inthe world because of its low cost & good mechanical performance along withexcellent resistance to water, most basic oils, lubricants, and some fuels. Itsversatility makes it an ideal material for O-Rings, seals, gaskets, and custommolded components for all industries and applications. Buna O-Rings are notrecommended for exposure to sunlight, UV light, ozone and general outdoorweathering or harsh chemicals, acids, ketones, and many others.

Nitrileis unique among synthetic rubbers in that it is generally resistant tochemicals such as oil and fuel, among other substances such as mineral andvegetable oils, diluted acids, and alkaline substances. Buna-Nitrile is lesslikely to cause allergic reactions than latex or natural rubber materials,making it popular for medical and dental applications. Nitrile also exhibitsgreater strength and puncture resistance than latex and natural rubber.
