Plastisol is a liquid plasticizer suspension of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or other polymer particles; it flows as a liquid and can be poured into a heated mould. Plastisol inks are insoluble in water. The ink is made up of Plastisols Market particles suspended in a plasticizing emulsion and will not dry if left in the screen for long periods of time. Garments do not need to be washed after being printed. For printing on coloured fabric, plastisol inks are recommended. Plastisol is extremely opaque on lighter fabric and can retain a bright image for many years with proper care. Plastisol inks must be cured rather than dried. Curing can be done in any oven or with a flash dryer.
