The following steps are involved in the IMSI procedure:

·         Fresh sperm samples are first selected by doctors.

·         A microscope with a power of 15 times that of a normal microscope is used for the selection.

·         Sperm are examined under a microscope to determine their internal morphology. During this stage, abnormal sperms are immediately excluded by the doctor.

·         Doctors select and place the normal sperms in a catheter after discarding the abnormal sperms.

·         As soon as the sperms are inside the egg, the egg is fertilized.

IMSI treatment: how does it work?

Microinjecting begins with IMSI, which divides the normal sperm from the abnormal one. Images are captured using high-powered microscopes equipped with 600 times digital imaging. These images are used to analyze sperm ultrastructure.

Nucleus distortion is examined by the dermatologist. This procedure analyzes more than 1000 morphological characters. Microinjection follows the same process as ICSI once the sperm have been selected.
