The ESL management system assists store chains with strategic and dynamic pricing. Base stations, transceivers, and electronic shelf labels are among the hardware components of the system. Both serial and Ethernet-based communication channels are supported by the system. A communication network enables the price display to be automatically updated whenever the price of a product changes. In front of the products, small digital or plasma display screens are shelf-mounted. ESLs that use wireless, low-frequency signals fed from a central computer can change the display instantly.
