One of the risks mentioned above is that the lens can rotate inside the eye if the PIOL is too short, the eye was measured incorrectly, or the sulcus has a slightly oval shape (the height is slightly smaller than the width). Intraocular Lens Market must be powered and aligned inside the eye on a meridian that corrects the patient's preexisting astigmatism. Again, these lenses can rotate inside the eye after surgery or be incorrectly placed by the operating surgeon. In either case, the patient's preexisting astigmatism may not be completely corrected or may even worsen. However, some children may have difficulty handling and/or tolerating a contact lens. The third option is to implant a permanent IOL inside the eye, which makes compliance easier.
