The Bradford protein assay is used extensively for analysis of proteins in many applications including drug discovery, food safety, and medical diagnostics. The assays are also useful in the analysis of various proteins complexes that have been detected by various methods. The concept of this assay is based on the interaction of protein molecules with fluorescent dye under acidic conditions resulting in a bluish color shift from blue to red. This process actually determines the presence of all the basic amino acids, arginine, glycine and histidine that leads to formation of the co-enzymatic protein complex. It can be used in combination with other methods for evaluation of protein content.
