Public Key Infrastructure is a solution created to protect your infrastructure, where signed certificates and hashes are used for identification and authentication.
PKI, or Public Key Infrastructure, is a highly secure way of authentication and is much different compared to using an email ID and a password. It uses certificates for encryption purposes.
The used certificates can be of two types:
1. Self-Signed Certificate: Here the users create certificates that are used to communicate internally between parties.
2. Signed by Certification Authority: The certificate is issued by an authority for TLS/SSL on the site.
PKI has applications in a broad range of industries. Know about PKI in detail and what it can do for you on Encryption Consulting.
