Chemical wood pulp is a pulp obtained through the Kraft pulping process, and it is the most prevalent procedure for cooking or digestion of wood treated with various chemical solutions. The paper made from chemical wood pulp is colourless, and the finished products are highly durable. Chemical pulps are commonly used in the production of writing and printing sheets, paper bags, shipping containers, and a variety of other paper products that require strength.
In the global converting paper, the packaging segment accounted for the biggest revenue share in 2018. In the packaging sector, converting paper is used to make carton board, corrugated board, and flexible paper. Converting paper is in increasing demand as the packaging sector expands. For example, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) reported in 2017 that the Indian packaging industry provided considerable commercial prospects and accounted for about 4% of the worldwide packaging industry. In addition, India's per capita packaging use was only 10.5 kilogrammes per year, compared to 109 kg in the United States, 32 kg in Brazil, and 45 kg in Indonesia.
