First Atlanta PPP Trial Convicts South Carolina Man on COVID-19 Relief Fraud

A South Carolina Man Convicted of COVID-19 Relief Fraud  by a federal jury in Atlanta of using fraud to secure a $300,000 forgiveable Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

 

Travis Crosby decided to steal federal relief funds meant to help struggling businesses during the height of the pandemic "prosecutor Ryan K. Buchanan said. "Crosby was found guilty of fraud in the first PPP fraud trial in Atlanta and will be sentenced for his theft shortly."
