Brief introduction

After Achieving a Solid Foundation in  Orthopaedics from the prestigious Central Institute of Orthopaedics, VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, which is A Super-Specialty Tertiary Level Medical College And Hospital, One Of The Largest Government Hospital In India Having Sub-Specialties Of Arthroplasty, Arthroscopy, Spine, Trauma and Paediatric Orthopaedics

Dr. Deepak Thakur has further pursued and gained experience in Joint Replacement arthroplasty particularly Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Replacement Surgeries. He has done inland fellowships in joint replacement at DITO Sant Parmanand Hospital New Delhi, and further specialized training in Revision Joint replacement at Endoklinik & Asklepios Clinic, Germany, which is one of the largest centres in the world for Revision Joint replacement surgeries.

Pursing further excellence in knee arthroplasty, Dr Deepak Thakur gained experience in the state of the art Computer Navigation technology, taking knee replacement to a higher level. Computer navigation helps to guide the surgeon in cutting, creating and precisely aligning surfaces and implanting artificial components. In this advanced technology, every step of the surgery is monitored real-time on a computer and any human limitations and errors can be minimized-precision redefined.

Further, as a natural progression from navigation surgery, Dr Deepak Thakur has pursued his interest in the amalgamation of technology in the spectrum of joint replacement with training in the upcoming field of Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery.

All these skills coupled with experience at one of the largest Joint Replacement Departments in North India (approx. 1300-1500 joints/yr.) under the aegis of DR.(Prof.)Surya Bhan at Primus Hospital has sculptured him as an expert in the field of joint replacement surgery.

Besides surgical expertise, Dr Deepak Thakur has been active in various academic events and conferences across the country pursuing research in further advancements related to joint replacement and presenting papers at national and international conferences.
