Chitin, a polysaccharide found in the exoskeleton of crustaceans (like crabs) and insects, is the source of chitosan, a natural polymer. C is extremely soluble in water, biodegradable, and non-toxic. Due to its antibacterial action and excellent effectiveness in reducing plant diseases, it is frequently utilised in agriculture.
Chitosan has been demonstrated to have beneficial impacts on plant growth and yield, as well as to enhance fruit set, root growth, and seed germination. It has also been shown to boost the amount of protein, sugar, and oil in grains, seeds, and other fruits and vegetables.
