Michelle Rodríguez was born on July 12, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Michelle herself spent her early years in various places, including the Dominican Republic, where she lived with her mother for eight to eleven years. She then moved to Puerto Rico until she was 17, before settling in Jersey City, New Jersey.

She attended various schools, but was excluded from all schools due to her rebellious behavior. To be precise, she attended 5 different schools, but eventually dropped out of high school. She completed her training and enrolled in business school before pursuing her acting career.

Her parents are Carmen Milady Rodríguez, a Dominican, and Rafael Rodríguez, who served in the United States Army. She has ten brothers and sisters and half brothers and sisters.

Rodríguez has assisted many men during her career. First, she was in a relationship with a Muslim in early 2000, but they quickly parted ways invoking a religious contradiction.

She then started with her on-screen partner Vin Diesel during The Fast and the Furious in 2001. However, this relationship didn't last either. She subsequently assisted Olivier Martinez, Colin Farrell, Zac Efron, Cara Delevingne and Kristanna Loken.
