Hex Slotted Nuts also referred to as Slotted Nuts or Castellated Nuts that are used to secure safety wire or cotter pin with a drilled hole. Hex-slotted nuts are similar to castle nuts but they have mainly a lower profile than castle nuts. Hex Slotted nuts are used where a long engagement length is required.
Features:-
Slotted Body:
These nuts feature six slotted sides that allow a cotter pin to pass through its body freely. Hex Slotted nuts are also designed to be used with a bolt, screw, or studs that are receiving a drilled hole through its threads.
Locking Action Capabilities:
Once the hex slotted nut has been tightened then a cotter pin is inserted through one of the open slots on the hex nut and through the drilled hole on the bolt, screw, or stud. This is done to lock the assembly in place and prevents the nuts from free spinning and loosening.
