WWE Intercontinental Championship

The American promotion WWE created and promoted the wwe intercontinental belt. It  is presently defended on the SmackDown brand division. Along with the WWE United States Championship on Raw, it is one of two subsidiary championships for the WWE main roster. Gunther, who is in the midst of his first reign, is the current champion.

Establishment of Intercontinental Championship

WWF North American Heavyweight and South American Heavyweight championships by the first champion Pat Patterson on September 1, 1979. The championship was created by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It is presently WWE's third-oldest championship. It is behind the WWE Championship from 1963 and the United States Championship (1975).It is typically being contested in the midcard at WWE events. A "stepping stone" to the WWE Championship has been used to describe it.

After the initial brand expansion in 2002, it was made exclusive to Raw while the WWF belonged to WWE. The Intercontinental Championship was then combined with the European and Hardcore championships to form the World Heavyweight Championship. It was created a year later. However, it was brought back for Raw the next year.

What is the Value of a WWE Belt?

The price of the WWE belt might range between $10,000 and $100,000. Many collectors take the owner of the wwe replica belts  into account when estimating its worth. They will also compare the pricing of an item to that of similar or related products. These products are currently on the market.

List Of WWE Intercontinental Belt Designs

1.      Off Color Stap - Intercontinental Title

This particular belt with the black strap represents one of the more recognisable championships. In the 1990s, a few celebrities altered the strap's colour. The belt's attractiveness was seriously diminished by the personalization.

The Ultimate Warrior also featured this title with yellow straps. Despite the lovely diversity of colours, the belt appeared a touch too toy-like.The varied coloured straps appear more "entertaining" when "sports and entertainment" are balanced. Despite appearing to be a serious sports title and appealing to a younger demographic, it doesn't generally match it.

2.      Intercontinental Championship redesign (2019-Present)

The new look of the Intercontinental Championship is not "awful." The title didn't rise to a higher level either. The truth is that this belt has begun to show up in WWE programming's backdrop.

It might be causing some of its issues. Another aspect of the IC belt is, it always stuck out. It was the blue dirt that was propelled forward on the plate. It is a benefit of the larger plate. Additionally, it lessens the design.

3.      Red Intercontinental title (1986-1988)

The red "WWF" sign at the top is the only distinction between this title and the one that followed. The corporate name stood out because to the colour red. It also gave it a more classic appearance.

The majority of people will recall Randy Savage's time as this title. Savage disreputably ruined this belt with Brasso polish.

4.      Classic Intercontinental Title (1988-1998)

Numerous famous people have held the Intercontinental Title in this edition. The ruins of all the legends looked so beautiful. Its design held up for ten years. Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels compete in a ladder match. It ranks among the best Intercontinental Championship matches ever. It also covered this championship.

5.      The Oval Intercontinental Design (1998-2011)

Several notable figures from the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Era made this book unpopular. It served as an additional belt overall after being totally repaired. Intercontinental never had much of a meaning in terms of increasing the value of the person who had it. The presence of the other continents benefitted this belt.

6.      Green Strap (1984-1986)

The WWE used this version of the IC title for two years. The design of this belt vastly enhances the title. This Belt design get benefit from its wider front plate. This second iteration of the title has a strap that is a tad too narrow. The colour green is perfectly complements the title.

7.      White Strap Intercontinental Title (2011-2019)

Cody Rhodes wanted to wear the Intercontinental wwe title belts that he had seen growing up. This was one of the best improvements made to belts in modern times. Shawn Michaels used to wear a belt with white straps. His belt was quite similar to this design. The company would employ a very similar version of this belt for almost ten years.

8.      The World Wide Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Title (1979-1984)

The original Intercontinental title is one of the ugliest models. Even though, it is the most important belt in its history. The thin strap is more suitable to be a watch than a belt. It seems more delicate than eye-catching.  Only five short years were spent using this belt's particular design.

History Of Intercontinental Belt

There have been 88 distinct Intercontinental Champions in total. With nine reigns, Chris Jericho holds the record for the most. The Honky Tonk Man has been in power for the most time, at 454 days. Only three other wrestlers—Pedro Morales, Don Muraco, and Randy Savage—have successfully retained the title for an extended period of time. Currently in his first reign, Gunther is the champion.
