The Key Elements of Spiritualism That Are Different From Religion
Spirituality reminds us that we are all human beings; we are not different from each other. We are not separated by race, gender, or religion. We are all deserving of a good life.

The Key Elements of Spiritualism That Are Different From Religion

Many people say they don’t believe in religion but are spiritual. You’re probably wondering what the difference is. Some religions believe in both God and spirituality. But the million-dollar question is: can the two be separate? Or does spirituality come with being religious?

Here are the key differences between the two:

There Are No Rules to Spirituality

Even religions like Hinduism, despite having a million gods, have strict rules that they follow. But this is not the case with spirituality.

Spirituality doesn’t have ideologies, concepts, and rules that must be strictly followed. It encourages you to follow your heart and intuition.

It Helps You Discover The Truth About Life

The best thing about religion is that it tells you about the truths of life. But spirituality helps you discover and explore these truths.

It encourages you to ask as many questions as possible and find the answers to all of these questions. There are no limits to the types of questions you can ask. Some religions don’t allow people to ask questions. The followers are supposed to accept things as they are.

Spirituality Talks About Karma

Spiritualists believe in karma and not punishment. Whereas religious people believe that God will punish evildoers. Spirituality teaches you that if someone does something wrong, they will have it ‘coming” for them. They will reap what they sow in this life instead of in the afterlife.

These are the main differences between spirituality and religion. However, there are similarities as well. For example, the three major religions of the world—Christianity, Judaism, and Islam—all talk about the importance of being spiritual and seeking the truth.

Spirituality reminds us that we are all human beings; we are not different from each other. We are not separated by race, gender, or religion. We are all deserving of a good life.

Everyone’s encounter with God is personal. It’s a reflection of their beliefs and trying to explain it to others is impossible. When we do attempt to explain it, it would be only sensible to recognize the language of the universe. It speaks in a much differing language of symbol and image, whether in modern motif or ancient.

We have the control to communicate with the Divine in our own way. Whether it’s through spiritualism or religion.

What makes people different from each other? What connects us but makes us different at the same time? Author D.B GaNung answers some of these questions in his new book, Tabor: The Apprentice's Book Of Reflections (Second Edition.)
