Shravan Gupta (born 1973) is an Indianbusinessman, who's at the moment serving as the chairman of MGF Group andDirector of Emaar MGF Land. He's also the founder of MGF Developments. Shravan Guptapreviously served as the MD of Emaar MGF.

 

 

Shravan Gupta Early life and Profession

 

 

Shravan Gupta has completed his bachelor's degree incommerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. Shravan ismarried to Shilpa Gupta and has two daughters with her.

 

 

Shravan Gupta joined his family business of financialservices, Motor& General Finance Ltd. (MGF), which was founded in 1930. He servedas a Non-executive director of Motor and Common Finance till March 30, 2007.

 

 

In 1997, the MGF Group diversified into real estate, whenShravan Gupta founded MGF Developments. The company produced more than 5million square feet of retail space, along with residential and commercialspaces and developed buying malls such as The Metropolitan, The Metropolis andMegacity Mall in Gurgaon, City Square and MGF Metropolitan Mall in Delhi andJaipur.

In 2005, Shravan Gupta's MGF Developments entered into ajoint venture with Emaar Properties PJSC Dubai, bringing within the biggestForeign direct investment in India in the realty sector, has invested about Rs8,500 crore in Indian real estate market place via its joint venture firm.

 

 

In June 2016, Shravan Gupta, who was serving as executivevice chairman and MD of Emaar MGF, resigned from his post immediately after thetwo joint venture partners- Dubai-based Emaar Properties and India's MGFDevelopment decided to aspect techniques and restructure the company'sbusiness, reportedly by The Economic Times. MGF Developmentsis promoted by Shravan Gupta, a well-known and extremely respected name withinthe  real estatesector. The  erstwhile Vice-Chairmanof Emaar-MGF, Mr Gupta was instrumental in bringing the largest FDI in realestate in India via the joint venture wi th Emaar.

 

 

For inorganic and organic growth possibilities in realestate businesses the partners mutually decided to demerge in 2016.Shravan Gupta has spent extended hours within the two years since the demergeron developing a synergy among his vision for MGF Developments, along with theevolving Indian realestate scenario. Expanding on his future-forward vision for MGFDevelopments, Shravan Gupta says, “I have no doubt that we are going tocontinue creating and making structures that continually and regularly breaksground. Continual reinvention is key, and I think we have what it requires toattain newer heights of greatness.”

 

 

In spite of all the achievement in the world of real estatedevelopment, Shravan Gupta has remained grounded. He has generally believed inproviding back for the community that has provided him so much ideal from hischildhood to today. Each year, the MGF Group organises self-help camps, inparticular for the elderly and underprivileged, delivering them with assistancein the cold winters, once they would be the most vulnerable.
