WHY THE WATER NEEDS TO BE SOFTENED
Water hardness is a crucial element for ensuring the correct functioning and for extending the lifetime of equipment (dishwashers, combi steamers, ice cube makers, coffee machines, water fountains, washing machines...).
• If the water is too soft, it can corrode the pipes and hoses of the equipment. The presence of a grey-green substance and premature equipment breakdown could be a consequence.
• If the water is too hard, the equipment can become overgrown with limescale. This results in limescale residues, loss of flow or can even lead to damage to the mechanical parts. The quality of the water is also hugely important when considering the taste and aesthetic rendering of the final product (ice makers, coffee machines, water fountains, etc.).
• If the water is too soft, the coffee will quickly become too acidic and this will affect the taste.
• If the water is too hard, the ice cubes will no longer be transparent. In view of these factors, which may cause equipment to break down in a relatively short period and lead to customer dissatisfaction, it is important to address these issues from the start in order to guarantee optimal water quality.
The filter cartridge is the perfect solution for a precise application, with specific parameters for the volume of water required. Installation, adjustment, and maintenance work are very quick and simple. However, the volume of treated water remains limited.
The use of a water softener is the best and most efficient solution for the treatment of a complete network. Installation, adjustment, and maintenance require more expertise, but in doing so, optimal water quality can be guaranteed long-term. In some cases, if large particles are present in the water, it will also be necessary to filter the water upstream on the network with a pre-filtration system.
