AHAM SPHURANA I was reading Vichara Sangraha when I came across this (Self Enquiry). I came across the remark that something in the heart shines or sounds like .
Sri Ramana Maharshi's ' Aham Sphurana (the light of 'I-I')
In sleep, the word 'I' is unknown. 'I' is identified with the body, the world, and non-self in general when you wake up. 'Aham vritti' is one such connected 'I.' It is 'Aham Sphurana' when 'Aham' signifies simply the Self. This comes naturally to the 'jnani,' and is referred to as 'jnana' by jnanis and 'bhakti' by bhaktas. It is not perceived despite the fact that it is always there, especially during sleep. It is impossible to know everything at once when sleeping. It must be realised in the waking state first, because it is our actual essence that lies beneath all three states.
