Top Attractions in Sydney to Check Out in 2022
From a brutal convict colony to one of most luxurious cities in the world, Sydney has come a long way. Now this harbour city of Australia is buzzing with entertainment and tourists, housing some of the most exciting attractions in the entire nation. Sydney has seen drastic changes over the years in becoming the staple in Australian tourism and now in 2022, people can once again visit this dream city. After staying indoors for almost three years, we can once again explore the beauty of the city. Here are some of the notable attractions in Sydney I'm looking forward to checking out the most.
Cruising along the impressive Harbour
There’s no better way to start off a day out in the Emerald City than on a premium lunch cruise on Sydney Harbour. The harbour is an aquatic playground with numerous activities and attractions that can be explored in many ways, but for the best views there is only one undisputed winner– the harbour cruises. You can discover many top vessels that call the harbour home including the luxurious glass boat offering 360° views of the city skyline. Enjoy a close-up view of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Fort Denison and more from the waters, while feasting on heavenly food and sipping on premium drinks.
Sydney cranks up the fun after the sun sets, and this is most visible on the harbour. If you're not a morning person, you can always choose a Sydney Dinner Cruise instead and soak in the city’s beauty in all its glittering night glory.
Rejuvenating with a Dip
Who doesn’t love a lazy-breezy day out on the beach? Our city is home to some incredible beaches and water bodies, perfect to just laze around and make the most of the pleasant climate. Approx. 2.5 km away from the well-known Bondi Beach, you can come across a paradisiacal beach suburb, Bronte, which is also home to the famous Bronte Beach. At the edge of the beach on a rock cliff is one of the most photographed locations in the city. Bronte Baths is a free, large saltwater pool located between the Bondi–Coogee walk which is perfect for a relaxing dip. Come here early and you will be rewarded with one of the most splendid sights ever– a mesmerising sunrise with the waters glimmering with the light.
Shopping Scenes
In the age of online shopping, I am among the few people who like to shop directly and pick up a bargain. Sydney has a vibrant shopping scene, from Victorian-era shopping centres to seasonal, weekend markets! Among them, the Queen Victoria Building is a historic edifice that adds a bit of regal touch to your experience! Find yourself in a mix of luxury and latest fashion trends and embrace the 1890s feel of the place by going on a high tea experience at the QVB Tea Room. The Rocks’ weekend markets are also an ideal option to collect those artefacts and souvenirs or even check out some of the local products. A visit to these cobblestoned laneways is easily a one-day experience with the plethora of attractions it offers.
Art and Culture
Sydney’s rich culture can be most evident in the many renowned art galleries and museums. If you admire art just like me, then a visit to one of the top art showcases in the country will be on the cards. And the best part is that most of them have free entries including The Art Gallery of NSW and the Museum of Contemporary Art. These massive galleries and museums are perfect for first dates even if you're not that into art, who knows, maybe you will even jot up conversations like ‘what’s true art’, ‘how art is essential in life’ and the like.
