Twilight Greyhound Racing
In a weekly special event that spans till January 2023, Richmond Race Club will host greyhound racing every Wednesday and Friday Night. The club has successfully staged racing events since it first got its Galloping and Trotting Licence in 1911. The club has also given both Greyhound and Harness racing enthusiasts something to smile and look forward to for many years and now, they host over 100 greyhounds meetings throughout the season! Oh and don’t forget to take advantage of their inhouse restaurant, coffee shop, kiosk and bar!
Sydney Film Festival
The 69th Sydney Film Festival is set to descend upon us after a three year absence due to the pandemic. The city’s favourite movie showcasing is set to give the audience a taste of what’s to come as they are given opportunities to discover unique and compelling stories from far and near. A marquee event on the program comes from the legendary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. His latest blockbuster, Elvis, a biopic about the world’s first music icon, comes straight from the Cannes Film festival. Other must-see films part of the festival are Blaze, a first feature film by award winning Del Kathryn Barton, Seriously Red, a feature debut by Gracie Otto and Shadow, a fascinating feature where disability activists propagate on the future of AI.
Other Notable Events
Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a Tony-winning musical based on Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film and will feature songs from the original movie as well as from Adele, Sia, Beyonce and more. Still in its opening days the event ends on October 23rd.
After hitting the stages in York and Vegas, Friends! The Musical Parody is making its way to Sydney as well. This lampooning of the hit sitcom that graced our screens in the 90’s and noughties centres around the six characters as they navigate life, love and friendship once again!
