Neurosurgery or neurological surgery is a medical speciality that deals with the diagnosis, evaluation, rehabilitation, prevention and treatment of certain disorders related to the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. These neurological procedures are carried out by neurosurgeons.

Lumbar puncture is commonly called a spinal tap and is basically used to detect or diagnose a number of underlying diseases in the central nervous system.

Ventriculostomy-

The ventriculostomy procedure involves the use of a tube to pull out excess brain fluid. 

Spinal Fusion- 

This surgery is used to treat traumatic injuries or degenerative diseases of the spine. A spinal fusion surgical procedure is performed to keep the patient’s spine in a stable position.

Microdiscectomy-

This neurosurgical procedure involves the removal of herniated discs in the lumbar area that are irritating or inflaming the nerve root.
