Things to know about Aluminum fluoride

Aluminum fluoride exists in gaseous (hydrogen fluoride, carbon tetrafluoride (CF₄), hexafluoroethane (C₂F₆), and silicon tetrafluoride) and particulate forms (cryolite, chiolite (Na₅Al₃F₁₄), calcium fluoride, aluminum fluoride, and sodium fluoride) emitted from both natural and anthropogenic sources. Fluorides are normally found in very small amounts in the urban air <1 μg m⁻³.
